Overview
At Utrippin, we respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request deletion of your account and personal information from our platform in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations.
How to Request Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data through any of the following methods:
Method 1: Account Settings
- Log in to your Utrippin account
- Navigate to Settings > Account
- Scroll to the bottom and click "Delete My Account"
- Confirm your deletion request
- You'll receive a confirmation email once the process is complete
Method 2: Email Request
Send an email to our Data Protection team with the subject line "Data Deletion Request":

- Your full name
- Email address associated with your account
- Username (if applicable)
- Clear statement requesting data deletion

What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, we will permanently remove the following information:
- Account Information: Username, email address, password, and profile details
- Personal Data: Name, phone number, date of birth, and contact information
- Profile Content: Profile picture, bio, preferences, and settings
- User-Generated Content: Travel stories, posts, comments, reviews, and media uploads
- Activity Data: Search history, browsing activity, and interaction data
- Communication Records: Messages, notifications, and email correspondence
- Payment Information: Billing details and transaction history (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Device Information: Device IDs, IP addresses, and usage logs
- Social Media Connections: Facebook, Google, or other third-party login associations
Data Retention Exceptions
Please note that some information may be retained for limited periods due to legal or operational requirements:
- Legal Compliance: Transaction records required for tax, accounting, or legal purposes (typically 7 years)
- Fraud Prevention: Information necessary to prevent fraud or abuse of our services
- Pending Transactions: Data related to active bookings or unresolved disputes
- Backup Systems: Data in backup systems will be deleted during the next scheduled purge (within 90 days)
- Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data used for analytics and research
Deletion Timeline
Our data deletion process follows this timeline:
Immediate (0-24 hours):
Your account is deactivated and no longer accessible
Within 30 Days:
All personal data is permanently deleted from active databases
Within 90 Days:
Data removed from all backup systems and archives
Confirmation:
You'll receive email confirmation when deletion is complete
Before You Delete
⚠️ Important Considerations
- Permanent Action: Account deletion is irreversible. You cannot recover your account or data after deletion
- Active Bookings: Cancel any active bookings or reservations before deleting your account
- Subscription: Cancel any active subscriptions to avoid future charges
- Download Data: Consider downloading a copy of your data before deletion (available in Account Settings)
- Outstanding Balance: Settle any outstanding payments or refunds
- Third-Party Services: Disconnect any connected third-party services (Facebook, Google, etc.)
Facebook Users
If you signed up or logged in using Facebook, deleting your Utrippin account will remove all data associated with your Facebook login from our systems. However, you may also need to remove Utrippin from your Facebook app settings:
- Go to your Facebook Settings & Privacy
- Click Settings > Apps and Websites
- Find Utrippin in your list of apps
- Click Remove to disconnect the integration
Data Portability
Before deleting your account, you have the right to request a copy of your personal data in a portable format. To request your data:
- Log in to your account
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Download My Data
- Click "Request Data Export"
- You'll receive a download link within 48 hours
Verification Process
To protect your account security, we may need to verify your identity before processing a deletion request. This may include:
- Email verification link sent to your registered email
- Answering security questions
- Providing government-issued ID for sensitive requests
- Phone verification for accounts with recent activity
